Welcome

Hi, welcome to Roblox Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Graphical User Interface page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- CatherineMunro (Talk) 22:03, November 6, 2009

Was wondering*

Would you like to help me and Trenex Here and on roblox? as a 2 class engineer? ~Alagor-Trenex~

I don't have a whole lot of time to build things on Roblox right now, but I might be able to help a bit. What do you mean by a 2 class engineer? --Ajedi32 23:44, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Are you the admin of this wiki?

Are you the administrator of this Roblox wiki? -Conmiro

Yes I am. (PS. You can sign your comments with four tildes "~")--Ajedi32 00:49, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

I was thinking···

Since you're the only active Sysop, we should have a thread in the forum where a user may nominate themselves or others for administrator privileges. Most other wikis do this, but I want to know whether the community or just existing admins should be able to decide. --PeejsterM 21:37, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

It might be a good idea. Although I am only an administrator on this site, not a bureaucrat, so any requests for adminship would eventually have to go to the Wikia staff. But yes, it might be a good idea to have a forum. --Ajedi32 22:41, December 20, 2009 (UTC)
But you're a Sysop. You should be able to promote others. Also, I made the thread in the watercooler forum.--PeejsterM 21:22, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
Nope, only bureaucrats can do that. --Ajedi32 22:33, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
Then I suppose you'll have to bug Leira about that. --PeejsterM 05:10, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
Lira is never on anymore. The last time she was on was about a year ago. Oh, it sounds like Roblox is going to unlock the official wiki sometime soon. --Ajedi32 23:22, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Two of The Same

There seems to be two pages of the Verified Gift of Legitimacy, a Verified Gift of Legitimacy and another V.G.o.L except in lower case.

Deletion for the lower cased article? --RobouserY 18:30, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Yea, I'll do that. Thanks for letting me know. --Ajedi32 19:55, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Hey i can help you

My name is epicfail22 on roblox and superfail22 on youtube. im the one that sent u the pm. I can build you something if thats what you mean by 2 class engineer, but im no good at scripting. I will build you anything but something that has to have scripts. For example i will build you scenery. PM me back if you want me to build you something.

Thanks for offering, but I don't really need anything at the moment. I don't recall saying anything about a "2 class engineer", so you might be thinking of someone else though. --Ajedi32 22:54, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Templates

Looking at the templates in use, I think that the Object template should be renamed to Instance, and a new Object template created.

The Instance template should be used for game Instances, and have a properties, methods, and events section. The Object template should have a constructors, members, methods, and operators section, and should be used for uninstatiable userdata such as Vector3s and UDim2s.

NXTBoy 08:38, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, that sounds good. A lot of the people on this wiki aren't very technical-minded and probably don't know the difference and I have been working mostly on pages that are not scripting-related, so nobody ever got around to changing that. If you think that instances and objects would work better if they each had separate templates, go ahead. Happy editing! :) --Ajedi32 14:05, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Patrolling the Wiki

Ajedi, is it hard keeping articles vandalism-free? With all those unregistered users, it could get very hard... Catblox 19:32, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

So far I haven't had any problems, right now the wiki is so small that I can personally review every edit they make. =) Ajedi32 19:50, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Do you like my signature?

Well, do you? And if you want your own, I could try to make one for you.

My Userpage.My Talkpage. 04:09, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

It's pretty cool, and you can make me one if you want. It's really unnecessary though, I don't really need a special signature. --Ajedi32 20:49, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

More of the same

Yeah, I got another case of double-ups (sort of), I've spotted two articles on explosions, Explosion and Explosions, now intersetingly, the Explosion article is older than the Explosions article but the Explosion article also has less detail...I just thought I'd note that out...RobouserY 08:16, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, which one do you think should be the official article? Ajedi32 20:50, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Like I said, Explosion is older than Explosions, but the Explosions article has more information, I think we could move some of the information (like the script thingy) of Explosion to Explosions and get rid of the Explosion, so that's my opinon on what to do, and that's my vote...RobouserY 10:21, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I think I see. Explosions is talking about explosions in general, while Explosion is referring to the explosion object in specific. They might be able to just say separate. Then you could just link them together. But I am not sure if they are big enough to each have a separate article... What do you think? Ajedi32 18:20, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
I took the liberty of merging the two articles together at Explosion, given that that is the name of the Instance that Roblox uses. Besides, aren't all explosions Explosion objects? — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 20:49, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
Well, not ALL explosion but most of them. It is possible to make super-sized explosions such as nukes that do not consist entirely of explosion objects. But generally, yes they are the same thing. I have deleted the Explosions article to complete the merge. --Ajedi32 22:41, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Adding CSS classes

I'm trying to make a general purpose code documentation template. However, my web-design background is shouting "No no no!" at putting inline styles in all my <span> tags. How would I go about defining a CSS class on the wiki? I've googled it, but all I get is wiki pages telling me about CSS.

— NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 08:57, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

I don't know a whole lot about CSS, so I am not entirely sure what you mean. help.wikia.com has lots of information on using the wikis though, so you might be able to find what you need there. I am not really sure if wikia supports using CSS in articles or templates, but I am sure you can find the information you need in the help wiki. If not you can contact the wikia staff at community@wikia.com. Thanks for asking.
Ajedi32 20:57, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
I've been poking around a bit, and it seems I would need to edit MediaWiki:Common.css. DO you have editing rights for this? If so, could you add some code to it for me at some point? That or grant me edit privs. Thanks.
— NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 16:52, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
It looks to me like that page is used to change the skin and other information for the entire site. Are you sure you need to modify that thing to accomplish what you are trying to do here? Why don't you show me what you are trying to do first before we start messing with the code that determines how the entire website behaves?
Ajedi32 18:47, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, you're right: it is. However, CSS can be safely appended to the end, leaving the important parts intact. Have a look at Template:Func, which can be seen in use in Cframe_(Object). At present, there are a bunch of repeated inline classes, which increases the page's load time, and makes no logical sense. I'd like to append something like this to the CSS:
/*** Lua Documentation stuff ***/
.function
{
color: #404040;
font-weight: 900;
}
.function .args
{
	display: inline-block;
	vertical-align: top;
}

.var
{
	color: black;
	font-weight: normal;
}
.vartype
{
	background-color: #f0f0f0;
	color: #303030;
	border: 1px solid #d0d0d0;
	font-size: 90%;
	display: inline-block;
	vertical-align: center;
	line-height: 1em;
	padding: 0.25em;
	text-align: center;
}
Make sense?
— NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 20:31, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
Yea, that sounds reasonable. Is that the exact code you want to use, or would you like to make some adjustments before I put it in? --Ajedi32 23:33, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
Thats pretty much the exact code. I've changed it slightly (see above). Should be good now.— NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 08:09, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I have appended the code to the end of MediaWiki:Common.css let me know if you experience any more problems or need to make another edit to the code. Thanks --Ajedi32 16:07, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Well that's odd. The CSS my browser is receiving is the same. Ctrl - F5 doesn't do the trick either.
Hmm, did I do it right? =/ MediaWiki:Common.css --Ajedi32 17:48, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Never mind. Had a look at the HTML I was being served. "maxage=86400". Thats the number of seconds in a day. Clearly it won't send me the new CSS until tomorrow. Thanks. — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 18:39, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Lua code highlighting

Could you install the plugin at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi? It would allow lua code to be syntax highlighted in the wiki

— NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 20:23, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

It seems that I don't have the authorization to install that plugin (it is only available on request), but yes that does seem like a good idea. I'll put a request in with the wikia staff. Ajedi32 23:39, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

Yet more duplicates

After doing some drastic recategorization, I noticed that there are duplicates for Part (Part) and ForceField (Forcefield). Merge into ForceField, methinks?

Surfaces.

I'm not quite sure about the structure of the wiki. Is it better to rename Motor (which implies the Instance) to Motor (Surface) or Surface/Motor?

I would say to just leave them separate. Motor implies the Instance, while Motor (Surface) refers to the surface type. Ajedi32 00:46, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
I think you misunderstand what I'm saying. The old article Motor talked about the surface, which I felt was incorrect. At present, I've renamed it to Motor (Surface), but I'm wondering if it would make more logical sense to rename it to Surface/Motor — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 07:38, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
Oh I see. I think it's probably fine the way you have it right now. Ajedi32 18:29, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Pipe escape plugin

I've been fiddling around with templates recently, and I've been getting really annoyed by the irritating way that Pipe characters must be individually escaped, and line breaks screw up. Could you perhaps add the Pipe Escape Extension to the wiki? Thanks — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 21:52, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

That does sound like a good idea. Unfortunately that extension is not supported on wikia wikis. =0 You may be able to use the alternative solutions listed on the Pipe Escape Extension page. Sorry if this doesn't solve your problem. Ajedi32 00:51, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Escaped string functions

Could you add http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:StringFunctionsEscaped to the wiki? I'm working on a new method of documentation for the lua objects, but I need to be able to search strings for newlines and tabs. The current String Functions don't allow the searching for these. Alternatively, could you perhaps try and add the regex parser found here. Thanks. — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 09:30, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Argh! Wikia doesn't support either of those extensions either. =( Here is a full list of all supported extensions on wikia. [1] --Ajedi32 00:02, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
In what way are they not supported?— NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 07:29, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
What I mean is that it's not in the list of available extensions. I suppose we might be able to get around it by putting the extension source in the wiki's global CSS. Do you think that might work? --Ajedi32 13:48, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
No. The extensions are written in PHP. Firstly, I suspect that the wikia software sanitizes any PHP-like input from users to prevent database loss. Secondly, it is highly unlikely that .css files would be parsed by the server as PHP: it doesn't make any sense. Finally, the PHP needs to be inserted into the file called "LocalSettings.php". Looking at the page, do you have a "MediaWiki install dir"? Or does wikia not work like that? — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 17:35, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
Ah right, I am confusing CSS with PHP. In that case I don't think it's possible. Wikia only supports some of the MediaWiki extensions and doesn't allow users to mess with the PHP, probably for the same reasons you just mentioned. I think the only extensions they allow are the ones listed here, and even then the extensions have to be enabled by a wikia staff member. It's kinda too bad, but I guess we'll have to make due with what we have. --Ajedi32 18:56, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

More CSS

Add please?

	background-color: #ecfcf4;
	margin: 1em 0px 0px;

Thanks. — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 17:49, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, no problem. --Ajedi32 18:50, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

You couldn't grant me write permission to that page, could you? — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 18:17, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
No, I don't think it's possible to grant a user edit permissions for just one page. I suppose I could make you an admin on the wiki, but I would like to see what the other members of the wiki have to say before I do something like that. In the mean time, I can still make edits to that page for you if you want. Just let me know what you want changed and I'll change it for you. --Ajedi32 18:48, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
OK, could you add everything that's on User:NXTBoy/monaco.css? Look at ObjectData:BasePart before and after to see what it's for. (you may have to wait a day). — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 20:59, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Ooooo, that's nice. I didn't have to wait a day either, I just refreshed the page. Anyway, that looks pretty sweet. --Ajedi32 22:53, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
OK, I've changed it a bit. Can you replace the bit you changed with the newer code, and look at ObjectData:Part for the usecase?
Ok, got it. --Ajedi32 17:34, April 28, 2010 (UTC)

Even more double-ups

Hopefully this'll stop one day, anyway, here's your fourth case of double-ups on your talk page, right so I've noticed more pages about the same thing, this time I've found Sugahbabe and Sugahbabe (X-101st). They are talking about the same Robloxian, I'm voting for Sugahbabe (X-101st) to get deleted because it's got less information then Sugahbabe without the X-101st. So that's my voting. --RobouserY 19:04, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, I think you're right. --Ajedi32 20:28, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

Another duplicate

I've found another duplicate article, well, sort of, but I notice in User:Dom2d2's contributions that he created a page under the name Outrages builders club, I'm not sure why he did that, it's meant to be about Outrageous Builders Club, but right now, we've got all the OBC information on the Builders Club page. So I guess it's deletion for the Outrages builders club? RobouserY 16:17, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

I'll just make it a redirect to the Builder's Club page. Ajedi32 18:38, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for making a roblox wiki!

I like this ROBLOX Wiki, it is much more up-to-date than the current one!

Actually, I didn't create this wiki, I just manage it. There's still a lot of work to do, but yea its great! Btw, you can sign your posts with four tildes. (~) Ajedi32 18:25, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Hello.

Hi Ajedi32, thanks for your message sent to me.

I don't really need anything right now but I will tell you if I do.

Body Position / Angular Velocity

You may not know of this, but, i need help with it.

I put it together in one object but then it goes to where its meant to go the it starts spinning, stop, spinning, stop.

Isn't that what angular velocity is supposed to do? I think what you are looking for is BodyGyro... Isn't it? Ajedi32 22:35, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

Dont know how to use it.

There is a value called CFrame in the BodyGryo object which scripts can change to change the orientation of the part the BodyGyro is in. For more on CFrames you might want to check out the official Roblox wiki, we don't have a whole lot on that here. PS: You can sign your posts with four tlides. Can you teach scripting?

You said that you script most of the time your on roblox, so can you teach me to script? I followed your scripting guide and it helped a little but i still want to know how to script fluidly. I mean like i want to think of something in my head and then script it right of the bat. Do you think you could teach me how in your own words and answer my questions? I am willing to pay you Robux/Tickets if you teach me alone so i can best understand it. That would be great if you could. Thanks.

P.S. Im Superfail22 on youtube and Epicfail22 on Roblox and other things so ya i've contacted you before

After you have the scripting lessons down all you have to do is learn the built-in functions and classes. I am not really sure what else there is to teach. The best you can do now is to check out some scripts and learn by example. --Ajedi32 23:02, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

What do you think about these templates?

They look pretty good, but they seem to be a bit discouraging to editors. Right now we need all the help we can get, and these templates look like they might scare a few people off. =/ Ajedi32 17:14, March 18, 2010 (UTC)
Can we use the lights?

I don't see why not. The lights look fine. =) Ajedi32 23:19, March 18, 2010 (UTC)

Category linking

Hey, I've found out how to create a link to a category without it appearing (remember the discussion about Category re-naming on the forum?), well, how to link to a category without it appearing at the bottom of the page is by not creating a normal link but instead using a : before the Category and after the first two [[, and then continue with the link as you would normally, that way it should create a link to a category without putting it on the bottom of the page.

Category:Testing

It seems it works. RobouserY 08:52, March 18, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I knew there had to be a way to do it. Ajedi32 17:17, March 18, 2010 (UTC)

Scripting help

Can you teach me to script, for example, a one-way teleporter that gives you money on a GUI and a tycoon button that takes money from that GUI? Jmdingess 13:45, March 30, 2010 (UTC)

PLEASE JOIN MY WIKI

I made a roblox wiki and i need contrbutors! http://robloxrules.wikia.com/

Hi iv'e been copying articles from this wiki and putting them on mine. I gave this site credit for all of those. Is that acceptable?

I think it's fine that you're copying articles. Everything here is made by the community here, I don't own anything, so I don't see why it wouldn't be okay for you to copy articles to your wiki. The only thing I don't understand is why you needed to create another Roblox wiki. What's wrong with this one? =/ Ajedi32 17:31, April 20, 2010 (UTC)

IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the anti virus script. There was a certain brick i inserted with..... undesirable effects...

Thank you, glad you liked it. Ajedi32 17:26, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

Oh Noes! A rouge editor!

Hi Ajedi! I've got a rouge user by the name of Rulzalot (http://roblox.wikia.com/wiki/User:Rulzalot). He's got something against F.E.A.R and he edited pages to say "Fear sucks" and other things. So please watch his movements!

Thanks!

TXVaughan 06:43, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

You mean a rogue editor? Rouge means red (in french) — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 06:50, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I'll keep an eye on him. Ajedi32 13:37, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

An Idea

I haven't been on ROBLOX Wikia for a while. But I thought of an idea. I've been to another Wikia, and it had a background. I checked out some other ones, and they did too. How about if we had a background?

Well, if you can come up with a good background to put on I'd be happy to change it for you. =) Perhaps a studs background? Ajedi32 20:30, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

No I didn't. Look at the revision history. I just fixed the grammar mistakes. I wasn't sure whether to delete it or not. — NXTBoy (talk • contribs) at 08:02, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw that too. I thought it was an article on how NOT to make a clan. =/ I don't see how it's 'offensive', but I don't think it's really necessary. Should I just delete it? --Ajedi32 16:13, May 16, 2010 (UTC)
Yes! Sorry about signature, to heated up to sign. How does it make a difference anyway?Tomlev40 19:14, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
Signing your posts lets everyone know who wrote the post. It is possible to determine that from the edit history, but it's easier if you just sign. It's not that hard to sign either, you just click the signature button. Ajedi32 16:30, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

Ad free

Hi! Would you like this wiki to be ad-free? I'm looking for wikis to be part of a new program which would remove all ads from the wiki for $19.95/month.

If you are interested, please be visit here to sign up. Let me know if you have any questions! - sannse (help forum | blog) 20:31, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Well, I don't think this wiki is quite to that scale yet, but thanks for asking. Ajedi32 21:26, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Spammer

We've got a bit of a spammer here. I think you might want to disallow IPs from posting.

No, IPs somtimes contribute helpful information. I'll block that IP address though for now. --Ajedi32 21:40, June 12, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for doing so, although as Wikia says, most IPs are dynamic, so in 10 days, or even a minute, that blocked IP could belong to a perfectly innocent, possible contributor. I think it's just better to redirect IP users, when they try to edit, to a friendly page showing them the benefits of registering, with a link to do so. Tgp1994 01:18, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
That's an interesting idea, but I don't think spam is THAT big of a problem yet. If it starts to become more of a problem I might try that, but I would prefer to use it as a last resort. --Ajedi32 16:29, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
Alright, thank you.

"Houston, We got a problem."

This page is just... nah. Dtnc21 14:53, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

Dang, Wikia's team is great! I reported that page as spam earlier, and look, it's been deleted today! Tgp1994 15:03, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you. I have an RSS feed of all the edits on the wiki, so I usually look over all the recent edits. Ajedi32 15:29, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
Ahah, your secret identity has been revealed! (I was kind of wondering how FreshBakedPie could have deleted a page :P)

Ninga95's Question

Hi im wondering how can i write for the real roblox wiki like MrDoomBringer. Or is this the really roblox.wiki

Ninga95 06:03, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

If you don't mind me answering this for you Ajedi, Ninga; the real ROBLOX wiki has been locked down, (and will be for the foreseeable future,) and this is not the real roblox wiki. However, with lots of contributions and work, we can sure bring this wiki up to speed like the real one :) Tgp1994 15:02, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
No, I don't mind at all. I would like to add one thing though. Only specified writers can edit the official Roblox wiki. MrDoomBringer recently held a writing contest to recruit more writers, but I think you missed it. Like Tgp said, with a lot of work we can bring this wiki up to speed. --Ajedi32 15:26, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Merging GUI Contest Pages

Should we begin making plans to merge the GUI pages, or should I move this discussion over to the talk page for its category? Tgp1994 15:34, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

You can talk about it wherever you want. I thought it would be best to discuss the merging in the category page, but if you want to use the forum that's fine too. --Ajedi32 21:20, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Alright, so do we need to make plans, create a central page, or what?
Idk, i'll make a post on the category page about it. We can continue the discussion there. Ajedi32 00:34, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

Garrettwm

Robloxia

I think this garret guy needs a 1 day ban now, I just noticed his edit (and the reply to it :P)

Actually, he created the page... He didn't include any content though. I'll give him a while longer to respond to my warning. If he keeps making useless edits I'll block him for a few days. Ajedi32 15:54, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, sounds good. Tgp1994 15:57, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
I think there's still a bit of an understanding gap here :S Link
Okay, I can't take much more of this. Check out the message I put on his talk page. Ajedi32 16:07, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
I think I'm actually beginning to understand why the admins have locked the ROBLOX wiki. It's because the larger portion of the ROBLOX community can't handle editing a wiki page. I remember a different community, for their forums, had a "smartness" system, and one would loose smartness based on how many grammatical/obvious spelling errors they made. (It would of course be redeemable if they fixed those errors.) Perhaps that would be an interesting system to implement into this wiki, if wikia even allows PHP scripting. Tgp1994 16:13, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
That's an interesting idea. But no, wikia doesn't allow PHP scripting. Ajedi32 16:18, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I'll try running it by one of the mods.

Something like Barnstars on Wikipedia?

So, I think this wiki should have something like the Barnstars on Wikipedia. It can be reverting vandalism/being a admin/mod/amount of edits/etc.

Of course, you would get punished if you purposely give yourself or someone else a award they don't meet the requirements for.

Example: http://dronian.wikia.com/wiki/Dronian_Wiki:Medals (A wiki I own.) Relorelo84 02:04, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

If I may add my opinion, that sounds pretty cool. Hopefully it doesn't encourage younger kids to start editing like mad. (Although, that would allow us to get reverting medals :)) And how does it classify reverting vandalism? By just reverting something in general? Tgp1994 03:31, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
Reverting would be classified as reverting harmful or useless edits. And I agree. This would be a good idea. We need a name for these 'barnstars' though that sounds Robloxian. Pictures would be useful too. We could use the regular Roblox badges, or make new ones. Ideas anyone? Ajedi32 16:34, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
How about calling them RW Badges? I know it's not original, but I'm not a good name designer. I have some ideas for RW badges.
  • If you get 50 edits on the RW, you get a circular badge. It's just bronze.
  • If you get 100 edits on the RW, you get a circular badge, that's only silver.
  • If you get 200 edits on the RW, you get a star badge, that's gold.
  • If you get 500 edits on the RW, you get a Surprised ROBLOXian head.
  • If you get 700 edits on the RW, you get a platinum badge. Shape? A ROBLOXian Head.
  • If you get 1000 edits on the RW, you get a diamond shaped diamond badge, with energy shooting out of it.

(NOTE: Group badges below!)

  • If you get a group with 1000 people in it, you get a badge, shaped like the Friendship badge, but it's Green, purple, and orange.
  • If you get a group with 10000 people in it, you get a badge, shaped like the Admin Badge, but it's the Group logo instead.

These can change. Relorelo84 17:28, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, badges would be a good name. We could do something like you suggested too. I think it would be cool though if we used edited versions of the regular Roblox badges. (Recolored, etc) Comments? Ajedi32 17:49, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
That would work. Relorelo84 18:21, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
And I doubt ROBLOX would mind. Let's do it! Tgp1994 19:06, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
Okay. Let's start making pictures. When you finish a badge, post it here so everyone can comment on it, decide on a name for it, etc. Ajedi32 19:59, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Banning
Banned

For the lucky person who managed to get banned :) Tgp1994 20:21, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Looks cool, but do you really think we should give out rewards for bans? O.o --Ajedi32 21:47, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
Gotta catch 'em all :P Well, no, it would be more like a notice saying that "this user has been banned", so people know their credibility isn't so good ;) Tgp1994 21:50, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
On second thought, it actually is an achievement to get banned here :P
50 Edits: Relorelo84

This is my idea for the 50 edit badge. It's not good, but I can't draw. I will call it...Beginner Editor's Badge. Relorelo84 20:12, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, that doesn't look so good. If anyone wants to update it though to look super-epic I think we could use it. --Ajedi32 21:47, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Here's my attempt at the 50 edits badge. I figured out transparency, too :D

I just downloaded a text outlining plugin for PDN. Tgp1994 22:16, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
That still doesn't look very professional. =/ --Ajedi32 22:35, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
True, I R teh nub at Paint.Net :P So what are we looking for exactly? Shiny buttons? I wouldn't know how to do that either :( Tgp1994 01:27, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, a shiny button would be nice. Or maybe some kind of variation on the combat initiation badge. --Ajedi32 17:19, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

LUA Dump

I was thinking that we should organize the LUA portion of this wiki a bit. I was thinking that we could have something similar to the browse tab of the left there, but then add a different tab that says something like "LUA Objects", then it has a list of them right there. That would make it much easier for us LUA programmers :D Tgp1994 14:51, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I could add a lua tab. The only problem is that there's way too many objects to put them all in one tab.... Ajedi32 19:37, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Are there sub categories that we could split them up into? How about it starts with Deprecated / Normal, then we go into things like whether it creates a click-able model in 3D view (I.E. Flag, Flagstand, Part, WedgePart, etc.) or not. Oooooor, we'll just make a link in that tab to the actual LUA dump page. Either way though, I would like to see that we have an LUA tab. (Is it possible for us users to add things to that tab?) Tgp1994 20:13, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
No, users can't add to the tab. It might be possible for me to wright the tab so that everything in a specific category goes into it. I'll see what I can do. Ajedi32 20:38, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Personal Subpages

Hello, I haven't used this site much since the Gui contest, but I was wondering: is it within the rules for me to make a user subpage to explain a concept on roblox which is really quite exclusive to something I made?

I recently made a build tool which has a function that allows you to save your online work, but it has some complicated steps, so I wanted to make a description of how to do it on this site because it allows me to use images.

Please get back to me as soon as possible. I'm getting PMs of people's asking me how to do it, and I don't want to keep turning them down. :P

Blobbyblob 14:51, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

In my opinion, I think you'd be just fine doing that. I think you'd want to go to Blobbyblob\Toolnamehere or Blobbyblob/Toolnamehere. (I can't remember if it was a forward or backwards slash.) Tgp1994 16:47, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, as long as you put it as a user subpage that would be okay. Thanks for asking btw, most people just start making pages without even reading the rules. Ajedi32 16:09, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Informational ROBLOXian pages

I don't know about you, but I don't think we want the wiki to turn into an informational database for every single John Doe Robloxian. Perhaps we should be a bit more strict with the kinds of robloxian-pages that get created? Tgp1994 01:30, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Right now we have a rule that the user must have at least 100k place visits, but you're probably right. The rules do need to be a bit more strict. There are lots of people with over 100K place visits, and that number will continue to grow as Roblox gets more popular. And suggestions for a better rule? Ajedi32 16:12, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
Howabout the user has to at least be a veteran? Granted, that's not a terribly difficult badge to obtain, but at least the user in question could perhaps be a bit more popular. 68.41.163.10 17:04, August 3, 2010 (UTC) (Err, I mean TGP1994 :P)
Maybe, but there are a lot of famous users who aren't vets. Ajedi32 18:03, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
